My name is Maynard L. Stanley, Jr.
I was born in Rockland, ME and live in nearby Owls Head. I have loved the outdoors since a very young age. My father and mother took me hunting, fishing and camping all through my childhood. I shot my first deer at the age of seven, with a 410 shotgun., I started doing my own reloading when I was twelve years old. I was also active in Boy Scouts from a young age and reached the rank of Life Scout. During my teen years I was very active in competitive shooting and was a member of the Maine State Rifle Team for two years. I enjoy all types of outdoor sports including hunting, fishing, archery, Tomahawk & knife throwing, trap, black powder, slingshot shooting, camping and camp cooking. I spent many years as a gunsmith for local gun shops as well as on my own. I collect Cast Iron cookware, and love to cook outdoors with it,
My wife Norma and I teach primitive cooking classes for Adult ED and Boy Scouts. My Trapping started when I was 10 yrs. old and trapped my first skunk, I have always enjoyed the challenge of outsmarting animals
My wife, Norma, and I have been married for 45 yrs. and have 4 wonderful boys that we are very proud of.
